For the past eleven years I have enjoyed the rich blessings...
For the past eleven years I have enjoyed the rich blessings of Christian Science, and joyfully acknowledge that I could no longer live without it. Through the understanding of Christian Science, not only nervous conditions—affection of the heart and pain in the head and stomach—have been overcome, but this teaching has also given me strength and comfort in trying and mournful days, when medical skill was unable to save my husband from death.
The God whom I found in Christian Science was my strength and my intelligence when duties to which I was unaccustomed suddenly devolved upon me. At first I thought that I must accept or even seek the advice of experienced and distinguished men, but as this had seldom proved the right thing for me, indeed at times had led to complications, I turned straight to God. My heavenly adviser has enlightened me at the right hour, and oftimes solved intricate problems harmoniously. Although I experienced in my business the so-called hard times. I remained calm; I had the richest and most faithful Father standing by me. His goodness has been new every morning. I delight translating the text-book for myself, and in finding those treasures, those high thoughts which make all Scientists so happy.
For all these blessings I thank God, and our revered Leader, with all my heart.
