Christian Science teaches implicit obedience to the commandments...
La Crosse (Wis.) Chronicle
Christian Science teaches implicit obedience to the commandments of Christ Jesus, the necessity of becoming as a little child; innocence, humility, and obedience; yes, more, holiness. It teaches that the Bible is the sufficient guide to eternal life, that man is absolutely dependent upon and responsible to God.
While Mrs. Eddy is recognized as the Discoverer of Christian Science and the Leader in this movement, no people on earth are more free from idol worship than are Christian Scientists, for they not only consider it wicked, but they understand the folly of it. Christian Science is indeed a religion of "love and sunshine," but it also declares the necessity of grappling with sin in ourselves and others and destroying it. We believe that the humble Nazarene asked no impossible thing when he said: "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
