I wish to relate how Christian Science helped me
I wish to relate how Christian Science helped me. I had rheumatism for ten years, and while living in Salt Lake City was confined to my bed with a severe attack, suffering intense pain, and weak from loss of appetite and sleep. The lady with whom I was boarding at the time had been cured by Christian Science, and she advised me to try it. I said I had suffered for ten years and had tried everything, receiving only temporary help at times, and I did not think that Christian Science could help me; but the lady insisted that it could, so I consented. A practitioner came, and found me greatly discouraged, sick in mind and body. She tried to cheer me up, telling me that God would help me, and said I should read the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. She then treated me and I was healed in one week. That same winter I had a bad attack of lung trouble. I called in this practitioner again, and was healed in a short time. How thankful I am that the disease had never returned.
Since this experience I have relied entirely on Christian Science, and I find that God does help us in every trouble. While out in mining district in Nevada, I was the only woman in camp, devoid of every comfort and exposed to extreme heat, which caused me to get very depressed. Then I would take refuge in the Science literature, and I found it such a comfort; indeed, I do not know what I would have done without my books. I feel deeply grateful to Mrs. Eddy for this healing truth which she has brought to the world, and I am glad to give my testimony to help some one else.
Mrs. Adelaide H. Edmunds, Winnemucca, Nev.
