It is with a heart full of gratitude that I write the following testimony. Our home is in Evanston, Wyo., some seventy-six miles from Ogden, Utah, where it was necessary to go in order to have some much dreaded dental work done. My mother accompanied me, and on arriving in Ogden the next morning we went to consult a dentist who had been recommended to me by a friend. He advised me to have all of the upper teeth extracted, as they were in such bad condition. He also said this would be quite an ordeal, and advised that I take an anesthetic, but to this I did not consent. From the dentist's office we went to see a Christian Science practitioner, and at one o'clock she accompanied us to the dentist's and treated me during the extracting of the teeth. Seventeen teeth were extracted in a very short time, with little or no pain, and after leaving the office we went direct to a place where I partook of some ice cream. We then boarded a streetcar and took a ride to various places, going to different stores to do some shopping. I ate a hearty supper, and next morning went home. After the dentist had gotten through with the extracting of the teeth, he said he was surprised to see how well I had stood it—that it was a miracle. Within three months I went to Ogden and got the plate. The dentist said he had never seen gums healed so perfectly. I then had two other teeth extracted and two filled, the practitioner treating me at the time. Since then I have been in sound health.
My mother and I have known of Christian Science for several years, and I owe a great deal of gratitude for all that it has done for me and the members of our family at various times.—Pearl Nelson Esbenson, Evanston, Wyo.
