The past three years have been the happiest of my life. My cup of joy is running over. My mother had been an invalid in a sanitarium for twenty years, but she has been healed through Christian Science, and has been at home with her two daughters for over two years. She has outlived the doctor that kept the sanitarium, as well as the relatives and friends who sent her there.

For six months I was rejoicing about my mother, but after that the novelty wore off. I do not wish to condemn the doctors, but I am thankful that I have learned that there is a better way. In all, we spent over twenty thousand dollars for medical treatment. Christian Science has overcome for me the fear of sanitariums, hospitals, and restcures. After graduating from high school I went twice to a sanitarium for several months, as a result of overstudy. Afterward I traveled over Europe for a year and a half, but travel did not heal me of bitterness and fear. I have come to prove for myself the truth of which our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, writes in "Retrospection and Introspection" (p. 21): "It is well to know, dear reader, that our material, mortal history is but the record of dreams, not of man's real existence, and the dream has no place in the Science of being."
