The beauty, the wonder and joy, of which we get...

The beauty, the wonder and joy, of which we get glimpses through Christian Science, fill one with overflowing thankfulness, and though deeds and practical proof are the true way of showing our gratitude, one desires to express it in words also. If Christian Science had done no more for me than to life me out of the state of extreme fear and depression which I had reached over two years ago, I could never be grateful enough; but the way in which it is bringing love and joy and happiness and health and peace into my life is beyond words. It gives one a sense of perfect safely and assurance in place of fear, and above all a practical help and hope with which to lift others out of misery. When one starts in life with high ideals, older people often say that we will have to compromise with the world sooner or later; and though one instinctively feels that there is a mistake somewhere, he does not know how to make these high ideals and inspirations practical. Now, through Christian Science, we are thankful to know that the higher and more beautiful a desire is, the truer and more practical it is, because God Himself is infinite Truth, and as all beauty and perfection are of Him, therefore good must prevail.

For the last two years every need and every problem, for which I have faithfully turned for help to Christian Science, has been met. And when my own faith and understanding were not sufficient to wipe out the false belief, and help has been asked from a practitioner, it has been patiently and unfailingly given. I can only begin to express my gratitude by trying faithfully to practise it by living steadfastly only to Principle, by healing sickness, by striving patiently to clear the mirror of my own consciousness, to be obedient to Truth's demands, and to serve my fellow-men with love and patience. I can never express my gratitude for all the blessings,—the Lesson-Sermons, our periodicals, our church services, and the kind help passed on by other students of Christian Science. My heart is inexpressibly full of loving gratitude to our dear Leader for her life of purity and faith in God, which fitted her to receive and impart the light of Truth. Though clouds sometimes seem dark and persistent, they vanish if we persevere in looking steadfastly to Truth, and we see more light than before.
