The appreciation of Mrs. Eddy's unquestionable and legitimate place among the world's reformers and benefactors, on the part of her world-wide following, is untinctured by any so-called "grains of salt," but is boldly attested and generally recognized.

Christian Science is nothing more nor less than a recapitulation of the teachings of Jesus, and its healings of sin and disease are achieved upon the same basis as were our Lord's. The "great Physician" and his disciples did not have recourse to "manipulation," mental or bodily, neither did they require any form of "concentration" on the part of the patient; and no more do Christian Scientists in their efforts to heal. Jesus, on the other hand, argued in substance, that the Father doeth the works. The sick are healed today in Christian Science practice by the influence upon human minds and bodies of uplifting, vivifying Truth and Love, and neither drugs nor poultices, manipulation nor will-power, play any part in the process. No considerable percentage of even the minor ills "that flesh is heir to" could reasonably be "forgotten" into oblivion.
