I wish to add my testimony to the many which I have...

I wish to add my testimony to the many which I have been reading, and I hope it will help some one, even as I have been helped by reading the experiences of others. I with to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for myself and family,—gratitude to God, and to our dear Leader for the sincere and faithful way in which she has placed this understanding before the world. I have been reading Christian Science literature only about a year and a half, and at first I was not interested very much. I had then been afflicted for about two and a half years, with an illness which the medical profession called blood-poisoning, and during that time I had changed doctors five or six times. My hands were badly affected, the finger-nails having come off several times, and instead of getting any relief, I continued to grow worse.

While away from home, in the winter of 1907–1908, I received a letter from my wife, who had been practically an invalid for a number of years, stating that she was so much improved that she could almost declare herself well, and that she had given up doctors and medicine. This was something of a surprise, but nothing to compare with what I beheld with my own eyes when I returned home early the following June. My wife was a picture of health, and a changed person entirely. I was not, however, ready as yet for Christian Science. I went to so-called health springs for two or three weeks, but received no relief. I then went to the seashore, to get what benefit I could from the salt water, and became so much better that I returned home; but the relief was only temporary, and I soon began to go backward again.

I then started in to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I did not, however, gain the understanding at once; so I went to see a practitioner, but more to satisfy my wife than with any thought of my own benefit. To my astonishment, I soon found myself rapidly growing better; in other words, I was being healed. I became much more interested, and know now that I am on a clear road. I went through a class in November, 1908, and can say that I have been truly and wonderfully healed, not only physically, but morally. I know I have a great many obstacles yet to overcome, but I am demonstrating constantly and seeing them disappear one by one. I never before felt the import of the usual greeting at this season, as I do now. Happy New Year! This is my wish for all mankind.
