I came to Christian Science in February, 1906, a physical wreck, with absolutely no knowledge of what this Science was; without any faith, and I might say without any hope of benefit. I was healed in one treatment of a stomach disorder of thirteen years' standing, with all its attendant miseries, and of the need for eye-glasses, which I had used for about seven years. I feel that my gratitude for this relief can best be expressed in earnest endeavor to know God aright.
Since my own healing we have been blessed in many ways. A few months ago my daughter, seventeen years of age, had a severe attack of appendicitis. The symptoms first appeared on Friday night; I was able to help her through the night. On Saturday night a more severe attack came on. It grew gradually worse, and at ten o'clock on Sunday morning a Christian Science practitioner was called in. The suffering at that time was intense, but late in the afternoon all the pain disappeared; she rested well that night, and was out the next day, slightly weak from the suffering, otherwise in perfect health.
For three years God has been our only physician. We feel very grateful to Mrs. Eddy for showing us the way to health and holiness.—Robt. G. Smith, Newark, N. J.
