When my little girl was about two weeks old, she had what one doctor called a nightmare. Every night thereafter she would scream for several hours and we could not quiet her. I went from one doctor to another. seeking help for her. One said she would outgrow it; another said it was indigestion; every doctor had a different theory. I had become greatly discouraged and all broken up for want of sleep, when one day I met a friend who had been cured through Christian Science, and she advised me to try it for my baby. At first I could not understand how a child could be cured, but I had tried so many things that I decided to give this a trial as the last resort. I spoke to a practitioner, who immediately started in to treat the baby. In ten days she was healed, and for the first time since her birth she slept through the entire night.

I cannot express my thanks for all that was done, as it was the first night's rest we had had in over two years. The practitioner told me to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, saying that it would help me very much. I became so interested in it that it was the last thing I would look at before going to bed at night, and I can remember many nights I fell asleep with this book in my hand, It has helped me in many ways. For twenty-four years I could not eat certain kinds of fruit, and when I saw the first of them the next season, I tried a few, knowing that I could eat them because what we eat or drink cannot harm us; and the fruit did not hurt me at all. For twelve years I had suffered with severe headaches. I was so used to them that I never realized they had disappeared until one day my daughter asked about them, and I remembered that it was nearly two years since I had had one.

Christian Science has done so much for me and my family that I cannot express my thanks to God, and to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for showing me the way to Truth.—Mrs. E. Berckmann, Jersey City, N. J.
