Christian Science in Aldershot, and Aldershot means also the extensive surrounding district, received further impetus by the lecture delivered by Francis J. Fluno, M.D., at the Theater Royal on Wednesday afternoon [May 26]. Fashionably dressed ladies and folk of all grades and position in life comprised the audience, which listened with intense eagerness to the lecturer's able exposition.

Chairman Major L. N. Hughes D'Aeth, D.L., J.P., paved the way for Dr. Fluno. He felt it a privilege to preside and assist with that splendid audience in the welcome of the distinguished lecturer. Rather less than fifty years ago, said Major D'Aeth, the new-old religion, or old-new religion, which was first preached to the Jews, was, after lying dormant for nearly two thousand years, rediscovered and reintroduced to mankind—the one and only healing religion of all times. Understanding that all was Mind, and that there was only one Mind and one creator, both infinite and both good, Christian Scientists knew that their religion could and did heal every disease known to mortal man. But that religion did far more than heal the body. Physical healing simply accompanied the reformation and regeneration of the moral nature by the destruction of all sense of hatred, jealousy, drunkenness, vice of every description. The rediscoverer of the wonderful truth was the Rev. Mary Baker Eddy, whom Christian Scientists loved to honor.
