This testimony is written in gratitude to God for the help received from Him through Christian Science. When our boy was born, nearly two years ago, my wife had as serious a time as it is possible for any one to have and still live. On the third day she had a total collapse. Our family physician called another to aid him, and both worked for forty-five minutes before she was again conscious. Our regular physician did not leave my house for five days, believing she was likely to pass away at any minute, and he advised sending for her mother at Salt Lake City, though he said he did not think my wife would live until her mother's arrival. My mother-in-law, although a Christian Scientist for a number of years, had followed the profession of nurse for ten years, and on account of my feelings against Christian Science she called in another old physician whom she knew and had confidence in, but his opinion was also unfavorable. She then asked me if I would consent to Christian Science treatment as a last resort, as three physicians had said it would be a miracle if my wife recovered. I consented, and have every reason to be thankful that I did so.

During the time the Christian Science practitioner was treating my wife, all the symptoms of general poisoning, which were very alarming, showed on her body. My mother-in-law had nursed a similar case under a physician's care, and when a certain symptom, which appeared in my wife's case, developed, the patient died within five hours. The practitioner spent most of the time, nearly night and day, at our home for about two weeks, and with God's help she was able to overcome the disease. At the end of five weeks after the baby's birth my wife was able to go with her mother to Salt Lake City, although she was very weak. When her recovery was an assured fact several physicians told me that she would have heart trouble, but although we are living in a very high altitude there is no sign of it, and she is enjoying perfect health.

Another instance when Christian Science helped us was about seven months ago, when my wife suddenly developed all the symptoms of acute lung trouble. She called the practitioner over the telephone, and within twelve hours was entirely well; whereas, if she had relied upon material means the disease would have run its customary course of nine days, and if she recovered she would have been weak for a long time afterward. About the same time, our baby was cutting several teeth, and one afternoon, without any warning, he had an alarming attack of illness. My wife called the Christian Science practitioner by telephone, and the child immediately came out of the fit. The practitioner came to the house and stayed until I came home from the office in the evening. About two o'clock the next morning, while sleeping with me, the baby had another attack. My wife tried to get the practitioner on the telephone, but there were several seconds' delay in getting the connection. I tried every way I knew to bring the baby back to consciousness, but could not do it, and I thought he was dead. As soon, however, as my wife could explain the conditions to the practitioner, the baby regained consciousness, and since then he has had no further sickness.—W. A. CASH (dentist), Wisdom, Mont.
