I esteem it a privilege as well as a duty to offer grateful acknowledgment of the many blessings that have come to me through the application of the teachings of Christian Science. My attention was originally drawn to it through a healing of stomach and bowel trouble that I witnessed in my family, and which was accomplished in a comparatively short time, although the difficulties had been of many years' standing. This healing occurred almost six years ago, and since then I have seen many proofs of divine power in the removal of numerous physical disorders within my own home, among which were chronic bowel trouble, extending over a long period; imperfect eyes restored to their normal condition,—the permanent removal of eye-glasses being thus made possible; blood-poisoning (two cases); chronic catarrhal trouble, which had not yielded to three separate courses of medical treatment and operations; severe headaches, which under materia medica lasted several days,—all these and other ailments have yielded almost instantly. The ill effects of accidents have in several instances been entirely removed; on one occasion my mother fell down half a flight of stairs with no serious consequences.

Christian Science has proven itself more than a remedial agent in curing disease (or mere physical discord); its study furnishes us with a knowledge of God as infinite Mind, divine Principle, the only intelligence which forever guides and governs us aright. It is this understanding which enables us to overcome sin, not only in the grosser forms, but anger, greed, passion, malice, criticism, censure, resentment, hate, etc. Mrs. Eddy says, "Healing physical sickness is the smallest part of Christian Science. It is only the bugle-call to thought and action, in the higher range of infinite goodness. The emphatic purpose of Christian Science is the healing of sin" (Rudimental Divine Science, p. 2).

I have also found Christian Science of inestimable value in my business experience. Through the application of its teachings it has been possible to battle successfully with problems which without it would have been regarded as insurmountable. It means much to have an ever-present help to contend against such arguments as fear, discouragement, limitation, competition, greed, discord, selfishness, self-will, etc. Christian Science has appealed to me because it is fundamentally practical; it is not a vague theological theory, but a practical, operative, scientific rule of right thinking and acting, which properly applied guides one with "no variableness, neither shadow of turning." I am glad to acknowledge the spiritual uplifting, and the peace which surpasses human understanding, that I have experienced through the study of Christian Science, as contained in its text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." I am deeply grateful to God, and to Mrs. Eddy for the revelation of Truth to this age.
