Ten years ago I was first afflicted with a most severe affection of the eyes, and four times since then have had a return of the trouble. The first three times I was cured through a course of medical treatment lasting nearly a year. The improvement, however, was not permanent, the headaches, heart trouble, and weakness returning after a short time. I had a very severe attack of this disease in the fall of 1908. The medical means which I applied, and which were very expensive, brought no relief; the disturbance of the heart and the headaches became so severe that I was nearly in despair.

While in this great need, I heard of Christian Science, applied by letter to a Christian Science practitioner, and was freed of all pain in three weeks' time. I felt light and cheerful, although I had not taken one drop of medicine, and can hardly tell how happy and grateful I am for my wonderful healing. The feeling of security under God's protection does not leave me, and I greet every day with deep gratitude that with God's help I am able to take up my duties cheerfully and with renewed strength, without being tormented by pain or the becoming sick again. —
