The three years that I have been in Christian Science have been the happiest of my life. The quietness of heart, and confidence in divine help is indeed part of all human understanding. Three years ago I had a very serious illness, which several of the best physicians pronounced organic heart disease. My life had been one of many disappointments and troubles, and now it seemed to be coming to an end. I was completely discouraged, and never expected to be well again; but one day a Christian Science friend came to see me, and she talked most beautifully, and so differently from anything I had ever heard. She promised to come again the next day, and I remember that I could hardly wait for the time to pass until she came. After she had talked for a while, she asked if I would like to have her give me Christian Science treatment. I am very thankful that I accepted the kind offer, for from that moment I commenced to gain. One by one, all the physical troubles left me, and now I am strong and well. The new spiritual life—the peace and happiness that are mine—is, moreover, beyond anything I had ever even heard of.
