In a recent issue a critic is reported as saying that Christian Science is neither Christian nor scientific. If the doctor will take time to become acquainted with the teachings of Christian Science he will be convinced that this title is the only one that could be properly bestowed upon Mrs. Eddy's discovery. She has discovered and proved that the teachings of Jesus are just as available now as they were in the first century to destroy sin and disease. Christian Science is based exclusively upon the teachings of Jesus Christ and does not depart from them in the slightest particular. Therefore, it is Christian in the fullest sense of the word. The word science, of course, means exact knowledge; thus the term Christian Science simply means a correct understanding of the teachings of Jesus.

The doctor also objects to Christian Science because its interpretation of the atonement differs from his. Mrs. Eddy, in her book "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," has given us the spiritual interpretation of the Scriptures, an interpretation that enables its students to fulfil the promise of the Master, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also." Christian Science is daily healing the sick, reclaiming the sinful, and transforming them into practical Christians. "Ye shall know them by their fruits."
