It is with a deep sense of gratitude that I send this testimony. In May, 1902, I submitted to an operation for an intestinal trouble, and after several weeks in the hospital I came home under these conditions—wearing a support, and with my right leg bandaged from the toes to the knee. I was told that my recovery would be slow and that I could do nothing but light office work. Later I went back to the hospital, and on examination it was found there were adhesions of the bowels, with complications. I had electrical treatments for two weeks, and then returned home feeling better.

Soon, however, there was a return of the old conditions, and words fail to describe my physical and mental sufferings from that time until I decided as a last resort to try Christian Science. I had fifteen weeks' absent treatment, and was healed from all my distressing ailments. That was four years ago, and I have since then depended entirely upon Christian Science for the healing of any and every discordant condition which has come to me. In October, 1907, I was healed of rupture with three weeks' absent treatment. For the physical healing I am profoundly grateful, but it is not to be compared to the benefit I have received spiritually. For all the blessings Christian Science has brought to me and mine, I wish to express my gratitude to God, and to our dear Leader, who has made this healing possible.—B. L. Lane, Vinal Haven, Me.
