When I first received Christian Science treatment I had not been able to lie on my left side for a number of years. on account of heart disease. In less than two weeks I was healed of that trouble. Every winter for several years I had been troubled with a severe cough, which often kept me awake at night, so that I would get up in the morning completely exhausted. It was feared and expected that this would develop into serious lung trouble, which was believed to be hereditary in our family. Under Christian Science treatment this trouble disappeared entirely in a very short time. I was subject to severe headaches at least twice a month, but have had only two attacks in the three years I have been in Christian Science, and both times I was relieved in three or four hours, while under materia medica it usually took about a day and night to get over them. I also had malarial trouble, and a feeling of chronic fatigue, both of which left me soon after I began to have Christian Science treatment. Besides these ailments, I was a slave to intoxicating liquors, and had tried for a number of years to give up the habit by means of will-power, but without avail. In about three months after I began the study of Christian Science all desire for drink had left me.

For the past three years I have depended entirely on Christian Science instead of materia medica, and have felt better physically than for the twenty years previous. Christian Science has also helped me wonderfully in a business way, by enabling me to do better and more efficient work and thereby increasing my earning capacity. While I am grateful for the physical and financial help, I am more grateful for the mental and moral healing and peace of mind which I have received, and it is my earnest desire to express my gratitude by living and reflecting this truth, which has been made available to us through the consecration and the untiring labors of our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy.—G.
