The day has come when I am able to testify to the good...
The day has come when I am able to testify to the good I have received through Christian Science. About four years ago I was led to Christian Science through hearing what was being accomplished by an understanding of Truth as revealed through the Christian Science text-book. When I look back upon former years I feel very much ashamed that I paid so little heed to spiritual things, although I now see how God watched over me and was my best friend and a great support and guide. I am unable to describe the feeling that came over me when I first attended the Christian Science church. It was on a Sunday. and the subject of the Lesson-Sermon was "God." After the service I had an interesting conversation with the First Reader, who gave me new courage in her explanation of the allness of God, and from that hour I have adhered to the truth to the best of my understanding. I bought a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and studied it faithfully, applying day by day what I had stidied, and proving each statement, till to-day I feel that I am new-born. Trouble and sorrow disappeared, and I am happy and contented, something I never thought possible; but Christian Science certainly shows the way to happiness,—how it is obtained, and how to retain it here and now. I have been healed of supposedly incurable inward trouble, with which I had suffered for years, also from wearing glasses and having an unhappy disposition.
I am truly greateful for all the good I have received, and I know that every one can receive the same blessings if they are only willing to accept and apply this truth. for God is no respecter of persons. I would express my gratitude to God for the infinite good and great blessing that has been revealed to the world through our dear Leader's loving, self-sacrificing life.
