When Christian Science found me I was a physical wreck, and had been for nearly nine years, suffering from a rupture. In 1894 I had an operation for abdominal trouble. I got along very nicely through the operation, but the doctors said that I would have to be very careful for at least a year, as there was danger of bringing on a rupture; and like Job, the thing I greatly feared came upon me. It was while in this condition that Christian Science found me. My husband went West to accept a position, and the good man he went to work for was a Christian Scientist. My husband told him of my seeming condition, and he recommended Christian Science treatment; but I had never before heard anything about it, and laughed at the idea. Still the thought came to me that there is nothing impossible with God, so after considerable persuasion I went to see a practitioner and was healed in the second treatment. Having been in such a terrible physical condition for nearly nine years, I thought it a little of Christian Science was good, more was better; so I took two weeks' treatment, and am happy to say that I am a well woman, can do my own work and anything I care to do, heavy or light, without the slightest manifestation of any complaint.

The Bible is a new book to me; with Science and Health it is my daily companion. I feel that God surely sent His messenger to me, as the prophet Malachi says. I know God as I never knew Him before, through the study of our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." To the one who brought this truth to the world, our beloved Leader, who gave to us that wonderful book. I am more grateful than words can express. I am able now to meet the needs of my family as well as to help others. I have had some beautiful demonstrations of the healing power of divine Truth, through Christian Science. I thank God for this blessing and my daily prayer is that I may have the Mind "which was also in Christ Jesus."
