LINES WRITTEN ON THE DEDICATION OF THE MOTHER CHURCH, 1906

[The following stanzas are selected from a little volume of poems written by Mrs. A. J. Dickinson of Chamberlain, S. D. In a letter which accompanied the volume Mrs. Dickinson says, "I have been healed by reading 'Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures' by Mrs. Eddy, and it is through the application of her teachings that I have enabled at the age of seventy-five years to accomplish this work. I send her my very dear love."—Editor.]

God hath visited His people,
He hath healed their broken hearts,
He hath given full salvation,
And disease and want departs.

Now we feel His gracious presence
And His love and power divine,
And we see the old Shekinah
In this earthly temple shine.

Oh, the house was filled with glory
As we bowed in silent prayer,
And the sweet old loving story
Seemed to tremble in the air.

And we almost heard the singing
Of the white-robed angel throng,
As they swept the "waiting harpstrings"

With the rapture of the song.

May God's choicest, richest blessings
Dwell forever, evermore,
In the heart of her who opened
For our joy this long-closed door.
