It is with the greatest pleasure that I tell what Christian Science...
It is with the greatest pleasure that I tell what Christian Science has done for me, although I feel that words cannot express my gratitude to God, nor to Mrs. Eddy. Less than two years ago I was in a sick and despondent condition, and to-day I am perfectly well and happy. So long as I can remember I had had stomach trouble, which the doctors finally pronounced chronic. I could eat very little and only certain foods. I also had rheumatic trouble, which confined me in bed for a week at a time, besides having a cough which was thought to be serious. I was gradually getting worse, although I had four doctors. who after prescribing all kinds of medicines, said each in turn that they could do no more for me.
When Christian Science was first recommended to me I was offended, because I thought people were under the impression that I imagined I was sick, but finally, between Christmas and New Year, about two years ago, I became despondent and decided to go to a practitioner and see what help I could get, and I surely do not regret it. From that time to this I have eaten anything I desired, have had no pain, no cough, and am perfectly well. Not only have I regained my health, but I have entered the business world and have been quite successful financially. More than this, I have gained a spiritual uplifting. I can say truly that I did not live until I became a Christian Scientist,—I simply existed,—and I am ever grateful to God, and to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy.—Irma J. Berman, San Francisco, Cal.
