LETTERS TO OUR LEADER

Tacoma, Wash., Dec. 20, 1907.

Mrs. Mary Baker G. Eddy, Pleasant View, Concord, N. H.

Dearly Beloved Leader:— You sent me a Christmas present once—a letter in your own handwriting—in which these words occur: "Rest assured that you will be strong in the strength of a holy purpose, for the meek inherit the earth. You have my love and prayer, the sacred a,b,c of an humble heart. Your hope is in God, who worketh with those who work with Him; hence your assurance of help." Over and over again in my work have I proved my strength, help, and hope as your words truly indicate, and your love has sustained and encouraged me beyond measure. Your letter, while a gift quite perennial in character because of its import, is but a fragment of what you have given me, since I share in the manifold blessings your life-work has brought to the world.
