Our critic speaks of "Christian hospitals."

St. Albans (Vt.) Messenger

Our critic speaks of "Christian hospitals." Does he mean that the cures performed at such institutions are the result of prayer and faith in God's power over all evil conditions, or are we to infer that he thinks drugs administered by a Christian are more justifiable and more effective than drugs given by an agnostic or infidel physician? What possible explanation can there be for the phrase "Christian hospitals"? If there is any value in Christian surroundings, why not be logical, as well as radical, and employ the pure spirit of Christian healing, unmixed and unadulterated by material methods of any kind? How can any Christian minister, familiar with Jesus' history and teachings, reproach Christian Scientists for depending absolutely upon God for health and happiness?
