I have more reason than most people to be grateful to...
I have more reason than most people to be grateful to God, and to our beloved Leader. Previous to 1897 I was a very delicate woman. Three doctors pronounced me disabled for life, as I had nervous and heart trouble besides many other complications. I was sick all the time, could not work at all, and was given up to die. Often the neighbors and friends who visited me wondered if I would be alive the next morning. At that time a Christian Science practitioner came to our town, and my husband took me to see her. I had three treatments, and bought a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I have read it ever since, and have studied it with the Bible and Christian Science Quarterly. Many times I have been able to say with the psalmist, "O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever."
I came to Carman eight years ago, and there are no other Scientists here. At times it is apparently uphill work, but I try to demonstrate that I may be steadfast and ever watchful, and that I may grow to be a true follower of our dear Leader as she is led by Christ, Truth. My sincere desire is to gain more light.
Mrs. William Curry, Carman, Man.
