FROM OUR EXCHANGES

[The Standard.]

It is probable that Christian Science stands as far removed from the faith of Baptists as any prevalent cult to-day, but some expressions of the life of that church are worthy of careful study. What is there in Christian Science that will attract hundreds of its devotees to a mid-week prayer meeting under unfavorable conditions of weather, while only a score or less of Baptists are found at the place of prayer under the same conditions? Is one more spiritual than the other? Has one some preciously attractive truth which the other has not found? If Baptists can be as loyal to their mission and as fervently devoted to the truth as some of these denominations which have been named, by finding out what truth has influenced such denominations, there is no law in the universe which can prohibit them from accepting that truth—if it really is truth—and giving it legitimate and full expression.
