Nine years ago proof of God's ever-present help in time...
Nine years ago proof of God's ever-present help in time of sickness was revealed to me. From early childhood I had suffered from stomach trouble and great doubts were entertained as to my ever becoming strong and healthy. It was almost an impossibility for me to attend school. One day, on my return from school, an unusually severe attack came on; I lapsed into a semi-conscious condition, and death seemed near. A Christian Science practitioner was called, relief was almost immediate, and in two days the ailment was overcome. I have not had a return of the malady, but have gained health and strength. The practicability of Christian Science has been proved to my entire satisfaction. Sickness and discontent have given place to health and peace and joy.
The consecrated life of our beloved Leader is surely a reminder to us of the life of the great Exemplar,—patient, tireless, unselfish, and loving. The seed of Truth sown in my hour of need has yielded an abundant harvest of health and happiness. Through Christian Science the longing for something tangible is satisfied, for we are shown how to "follow and rejoice all the rugged way" (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 398). I pray that my thoughts and deeds may express my deep gratitude for the wondrous truths that Science and Health has brought me.
Wanda H. Mansbach, Denver, Col.
