From childhood I was afflicted with severe bowel trouble
From childhood I was afflicted with severe bowel trouble. After my marriage my health seemed to fail rapidly, and at the birth of my last child I suffered severe injuries. During the following eight years I grew worse, and two years ago I was pronounced by physicians a total wreck. I was declared to have serious throat and spinal trouble, severe kidney trouble, heart badly affected,—in fact, a general break-down was the verdict of materia medica and all the doctors said that I could never be a well woman. I was cauterized for spinal trouble, operated upon, and was afterwards in such a weakened condition that at times I was unable to use my hands, and my feet were also affected. I can only say that my life was torture,—even my dreams were misery,—and I prayed to die.
But always there must have remained a tiny spark of hope, for after reading of others being healed in Christian Science, I at once began to think that perhaps there was a chance for my recovery. On May 25, 1906. I went to a practitioner in Hornell, N. Y., and was treated for five weeks. I can say most truthfully that I was as one raised from the dead. I have done very hard work ever since, can walk a mile easily, and am of use and comfort to my family. From the many severe and so-called chronic diseases involved, my healing is surely most wonderful, and like many others I am at a loss for words to express my gratitude for the great truth that has made me free.
Mrs. Mary L. Page, Hornell, N. Y.
