I was afflicted with severe bowel trouble for about one year, being under medical treatment for weeks at a time. Not being satisfied with the diagnosis of the attending physician, I consulted a specialist, who informed me that from his experience I would not be free until the appendix was removed, and advised an operation at once. As I greatly feared the operation, I turned to Christian Science for help, and after three weeks' treatment from a Christian Science practitioner I was completely healed and able to attend to my household duties. I had worn glasses for three years, and was not able to go without them for an hour without suffering. These were laid aside without inconvenience. I had been under medical treatment at intervals for eight years for another ailment, which entirely left me at this time. Far greater than the physical healing which I received, was the spiritual uplifting; the peace and happiness which I have enjoyed for the past three years. For all this I am deeply grateful to God; and to Mrs. Eddy for the help received from the study of her books in connection with the Bible, which freed me from my bondage.
