Ten years ago I was healed, spiritually, mentally, and physically, by the study of our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I had hungered and thirsted after righteousness, and I have been satisfied and blessed in Christian Science, for the measure of understanding of infinite Love that has been given me, is pressed down, heaped up, and running over with good. I am, therefore, one of those to whom much is given and of whom much will be required. Mentally I was discouraged and discordant, entertaining a sense of suppressed resentment and self-pity, that I now know acted like slow poison and brought about a physical condition of frequent and agonizing attacks of neuralgic trouble. These conditions had been with me for years when, in seeking spiritual food, I attended my first Christian Science service. The peace and harmony that came to me then has never left me, and during the first few weeks of absorbed study of Science and Health I was unconsciously healed of all my physical ailments. It has been said that "the impersonal healing from the prayerful study of Science and Health is the most scientific," and I can bear testimony to this healing, for in the past ten years I have had no neuralgic pain. I am truly grateful for this first healing, for it proved to me beyond the shadow of a doubt that Christian Science is the Comforter; and since then, whenever a mental or physical condition of discord disturbs me, I take the "little book," and absorb its teaching, without argument, until I am well again. The spiritual teaching of Christian Science is what I am most grateful for, and that God has taught me through Science and Health to discern and utilize the healing energy for myself and others. The Bible and Science and Health, with our Leader's other writings, have been and are my only teacher these ten years, and it is my joy to rise up and call Mrs. Eddy blessed for being God's messenger to me, through her book.—Mrs. Elizabeth P.
