It came to me quite recently that I may seem lacking...

It came to me quite recently that I may seem lacking in appreciation, as I have never testified in our periodicals to the many blessings received from Christian Science. Sick mentally and physically, the outlook seemed terrible when I turned to Christian Science because I knew of nothing else to do. A dear friend took me to call on a practitioner, and that day I shall always be able to recall. When I asked the Scientist if it was possible for me to be helped, she quoted Christ's saying, "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." She assured me it was true to-day and that I could receive rest and comfort from this source. I felt wonderfully encouraged and helped at once, but it was months before I was much relieved, and years before I was thoroughly healed of all my troubles. I was in deep sorrow, suffering from severe nervous conditions and many organic troubles. All this time I was studying and applying the truth as taught in Christian Science. with the result that by the time I was healed I felt it my duty and privilege to devote all my time to that which had done so much for me. Many times was I tempted to become discouraged on account of the slow healing, but for that I am now truly grateful, as I realize that the effort I made to understand the truth enabled me to reach a better condition of thought. Life is now so full and rich that I am grateful for this means of expressing my love and appreciation of Mrs. Eddy for giving to the world Christian Science.
