AMONG THE CHURCHES

The corner-stone of First Church of Christ, Scientist, was laid Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 3, with appropriate ceremony. The services consisted of readings from the Bible (2 Chronicles) and from the Christian Science text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and the Lord's Prayer. A Bible and several of our Leader's works, including Science and Health, with a copy each of The Christian Science Journal and the Sentinel, were placed in the stone. The structure, which fronts on Park Street, is to be of brick with stone trimmings and there will be a Reading Room in connection. The membership of the church, which was organized in April of this year, now numbers twenty. The lot was the gift of a gentleman who is friendly to Christian Science and the brick were also given by one of the members.

Clara R. Sherwood, Clerk.
