A writer in describing three friends said if the first...
A writer in describing three friends said if the first encountered a mountain in her pathway she would tunnel her way through, the second would journey around it, but the third would lift wings of faith and fly over it. Christian Science teaches us to declare the truth before mountains of sin, sickness, doubt, fear, etc., and they vanish into nothingness. In September my husband had a severe attack of illness, which two physicians declared was a much dreaded fever. We had been interested in Christian Science for some time, but had not studied it as we have since. As the days went by with no improvement and the belief was expressed that the illness was to be of long continuance, we yielded to a longing for the right kind of help. A loving Christian Science friend consented to take the case, although she told us that it was not customary to do so unless Science could have a clear field. We had to make some concessions to the fears and beliefs of others, as we were not at that time in a home of our own, but soon after the treatment was begun the nurse and doctor left. They had been constantly surprised at the progress made and knew that treatment was being given. Wonderful demonstrations were made over the delirium, fear of contagion, and many other things, one of which was regarded as pointing to fatal results, and early in October a journey of over one hundred miles was made with comfort. Aside from one ailment, which has since been overcome, perfect health was restored. All the Scientists I have known have been kind and loving, and their light has shone so brightly that it has inspired me with new and stronger faith.
We are studying Science and Health in connection with the Bible, also the Sentinel and other helps, and we are glad of this opportunity to express our gratitude to God, and to the dear one who has led us to the truth.
