When Christian Science was first presented to me,...
When Christian Science was first presented to me, about eight years ago, it was through the healing of a friend, and although I was not antagonistic I did not then feel interested enough to read the text-book. After continued suffering, however, I was persuaded to take treatment, and my healing began with the first visit from a practitioner. In a few days I was well, and have never spent one day in bed since that time, for which I thank our Father-Mother God. Old things are indeed passing away, and all things are becoming new. Since taking up Christian Science I have known something of the "peace of God, which passeth all understanding," and while I have had many battles to fight with error, I have learned that each trial of my faith in God has been a stepping-stone to higher understanding. I am daily striving to learn more of the truth that makes us free, and I know that "where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." I am thankful for my physical freedom, but for the awakening to a knowledge of God I am most grateful. I offer my hearfelt gratitude to God, and to our Leader, for what has come to me through Christian Science.—Nettie S. Allen, Worcester, Mass.
