[Written for the Sentinel.]

RISEN WITH CHRIST

When he, the God-anointed, gently stepped
From out the rock-ribbed tomb that Sabbath morn,
Where'er his foot alighted blossomed forth
A virgin lily; thus was Easter born.

From out the sepulchre of sense now men
Step forth, transformed, into Love's sunshine clear;
And then beneath their feet the lilies fair
That symbolize man's purity appear.
