It is about eleven years since I was first led to try Christian Science, after all else had failed. Some of my worst troubles were female disease, malaria, etc. I was then living in Texas, and everything in the way of medical treatment and surgery was done for me, till at last the verdict was that I must get out of this climate if I wished to save my life. I was then sent to Denver, Col., and while there had an eminent surgeon treat me. For a time I seemed better, only to go back into worse conditions than before. After my return to Texas, we moved to Arkansas, with the hope of saying my life. After giving the climate a good chance to heal me,—which it failed to do,—I heard of Christian Science. I tried it as a last resort, and was cured. Though my healing seemed slow, I clung to Truth and never gave up nor thought of going back, as I had tried everything else. I now know that in my case there had to be a transformation through the renewing of the mind, and that nothing but Truth could ever have reached me. I have not gone into details nor told how hopeless seemed the conditions as I do not like to recall them to memory.
