I gladly submit the following facts of my healing through Christian Science. After suffering for several years from stomach and bowel trouble, which developed into a bad case of gall stones, I was under the care of a physician for several months; but was constantly growing worse. I was told by the attending physician that an operation was the only hope of recovery. I was taken to a hospital, and an incision was made in the abdomen, disclosing such a diseased condition that the operation could not proceed. A very painful course of treatment was kept up for several weeks, but I was constantly growing weaker, and my system more diseased, and the physician said that another operation would be necessary. Then, when I had regained my strength, a third operation would be necessary.
At this juncture, in a state of great despondency, I turned to Christian Science. I should have stated that in addition to the trouble before mentioned, another disease had developed. I went to the hospital on Feb. 22, 1904, and came out on March 15. I began Christian Science treatment about a month later, and by June I was completely healed. On the day of my remarkable healing I was in bed and suffering intensely. I fully resolved, however, that I would not again resort to any material remedy, but rely wholly upon God. I turned to Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and after reading a paragraph, realized immediate relief from the pain, and was able to arise at once, dress myself, and join my family at supper. The discharge ceased immediately, the last disease disappeared in a day or two, and I have never had a return of the trouble. My health is perfect, and I find the truth, as taught by Mrs. Eddy, to be an ever-present help in all times of both physical and spiritual need.
