That I am here to-day to give this testimony is wonderful...

That I am here to-day to give this testimony is wonderful in itself, and I am impelled to bring a tithe of my heartfelt gratitude to our Father-Mother God for the blessings that have come to me through Christian Science, Five years ago it found me in the wilderness, hemmed in on all sides by mountains of error, manifested in nervous and rehumatic trouble, insomnia, etc. I had stomach trouble to the extent that my diet was reduced to liquid food, and for months I had been unable to retain solid food or to drink cold water. I had suffered from bowel trouble for seventeen years; had been through two surgical operations for abnormal growths; was reduced to ninety pounds, and was steadily growing worse. I had tried fourteen doctors, but found no relief from my suffering; then as a last resort I turned to Christian Science.

I was entirely dependent upon my own resources; unable to sit up all day but compelled to work, and burdened with debt. Every one of these ills has disappeared like a dream, and to-day I am a picture of health, weighing one hundred and fifty pounds. While I rejoice in the physical healing, it is nothing compared with the spiritual uplifting, which is by far the greatest blessing. Mrs. Eddy says, "For victory over a single sin, we give thanks and magnity the Lord of Hosts" (Science and Health, p. 568). I rejoice daily in the destruction of the sins of resentment, jealousy, selfishness, etc., and like Paul I can say, "This one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." I thank God for His unspeakable gift,—Christian Science,—as revealed in Science and Health by God's chosen one, our beloved Leader.
