GOD ALONE GIVES PEACE AND POWER

We have given considerable space in this issue to the papers filed in the court in Concord on April 2, and to the statements issued by counsel and the trustees appointed by Mrs. Eddy, for we feel sure that our readers will be glad to have this reliable and authentic information. Beyond this, it is neither proper for us to discuss the pending suit, nor to pass an opinion upon it; the court is the only place for such and this is a point which cannot be too greatly emphasized. We may say, however, that the great Cause for which our beloved Leader has given forty years of Christian labor is undisturbed; that this noble woman, to whom humanity is so deeply indebted, has again shown herself to be above all else a follower of him who said, "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do."

And what a beautiful picture of the spiritual poise of a great yet humble woman, is shown in Mr. Kinter's letter from Pleasant View, in which he gives us just a glimpse of Mrs. Eddy's serene and undisturbed trust in God at a time when the world is wrought up with excitement about her affairs. Mrs. Eddy has proved in this matter, as in all others, that her firm reliance is in God, and that He alone gives peace and power. The example of this truly Christian woman at this time is such that it may well be emulated not only by Christian Scientists, but by the whole world.
