About three years ago, while adjusting a belt, my sleeve caught in the shaft-coupling, which was making two hundred and seventy revolutions per minute. My clothing was entirely torn off, including one shoe, before I was released. I was picked up unconscious, being badly bruised and unable to move any part of my body. My wife was telegraphed for, as she was away from home taking class instruction in Christian Science. On her return I requested Christian Science treatment from her teacher, and in three days I was able to walk; a week later to travel on the cars; and in three weeks there was no trace of the accident left.
