It is with a heart full of gratitude and love that I send these lines testifying to the all-healing and saving power of Truth and Love. My home is in Mobile, Ala. Ten years ago I went to Americus, Ga., to visit a married daughter, and in this place there came to me all the happiness of a new-found existence,—for it was then that Christian Science found me. Previous to that time I had never heard of it, and had for twenty-five years or more been a constant sufferer from what my physicians called chronic liver complaint, stomach and bowel trouble, etc. My diet had been reduced to the simplest foods and even these gave me intense suffering. Insomnia was added to my long list of ailments and this last almost reduced me to despair. I had the very best of medical attention,—in fact had tried everything that was suggested to me. My drug bills were very large, my doctor's bills ran up into the thousands, and yet I grew worse all the time. My last doctor urged a sanitarium. I felt that this meant death, that it was the last resort of materia medica; but "man's extremity is God's opportunity," and right here Christian Science found me,—a woman without God and without hope in the world. Through the strong, high realization of divine Love, the holy work began, and step by step I was led into this wonderful truth that has healed all my diseases and forgiven (destroyed) all my iniquities. I felt from the first treatment that I had found the great Physician, for the quiet sense of peace and joy that came into my life passed all human understanding, and a new life dawned upon me. In less than one month I found myself a strong, well woman, sleeping like a child, eating with a relish what was set before me, never fearing any bad consequences.

The blessings that have come to me through Christian Science cannot be numbered; words would fail me to tell of the numberless proofs of God's loving care in the overcoming of sickness and sin, both for myself and others. Through this wonderful understanding of Truth I was enabled to lay aside glasses which I had worn for fifteen years. This was eight years ago and I have never felt the need of them since,—reading and sewing with perfect ease. The past ten years of my life seem to be the only reality of me, for old things are passing away. Since this wonderful light has dawned on me I have never turned to a drug nor a material remedy of any kind; Truth has been my only remedy for every ill. In the old thought I was always sick and troubled; now I am well and happy. I have gained everything since coming into Science, and now know that I never possessed anything until my blinded eyes were opened to find Christian Science, the pearl of great price. I am daily a debtor to this wonderful revelation of divine Love. The spiritual uplifting has been far more to me than the physical healing, for it is revealing to me God's creation, whereby we cry "Abba, Father." Christian Science has brought me out of such seeming darkness into this marvelous light, that I long to tell the good news of the Christ-manifest; but I am learning that it is only as we bring the truth into our daily lives that we can help others out of their seeming bondage. "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Proportionately as we follow in the footsteps of our beloved Leader can we know the divine Truth which makes us so free. Christian Science has put a new song in my mouth, "O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him." My daily prayer is that I may become more and more worthy of my sacred calling.
