I first heard of Christian Science in 1889, at which time several members of my family were on the sick list, and we were large contributors to doctors and drug stores. A Christian Science practitioner came and gave treatments to my wife, who had been unable to walk for seven and a half years, and she was healed in less than one week. It seemed wonderful to me. I had suffered from stomach and heart trouble for many years, also severe headaches. The attacks were becoming more frequent and more serious; the pains became so severe that it was feared I would pass away during one of these spells. I had consulted a good many physicians and tried many prescriptions, but received only temporary relief. I entered a class for instruction in Christian Science, and before it was ended I was entirely relieved from those troubles. I have witnessed many demonstrations of the truth of Christian Science in my own family during sixteen years' experience, and in my judgment it is the one thing of bring peace as well as healing to all mankind, so that all may live the Golden Rule. I am profoundly grateful to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for the wonderful work she has done and is doing.
