We read in Science and Health that "a just acknowledgment of Truth and of what it has done for us is effectual help" (Science and Health, p. 372). This brought to mind the debt of gratitude I owe to Christian Science for what it has done for me. Some two years ago I called on a dear practitioner and asked for treatment while in a dental office at three o'clock. My request was sweetly granted, and I went to the office perfectly free from fear. The doctor made an examination, then called his partner and asked him if he would take the case. He refused, saying that it was a case for an expert. When the work began I refused an anesthetic, and had six teeth extracted without any sense of pain or any soreness of the gums. Ten years ago I experienced a wonderful healing of so-called incurable diseases, and they have not returned. Some complaints were healed instantly, others more slowly. I am now, after ten years, in good health, and at the age of eighty-two feel better and younger than I did twenty years ago.
Words fail to express my gratitude to God, the giver of all good, and to Mrs. Eddy, who gave us Science and Health, the reading of which restored my eyesight and enabled me to read fine print by the hour. I had worn glasses for twenty-five years. I am indeed thankful that my weary feet have been guided into the straight and narrow path of health and holiness.
Mrs. Amanda Wimberly, Los Angeles, Cal.
