It is now over two years since I first became interested in Christian Science, and it is with much pleasure I state that they have been the happiest years of my life. When I first took up the study of Christian Science it was not with any thought of physical benefit to be derived therefrom, but solely because I was seeking the truth and had almost arrived at the conclusion that the whole scheme of creation was a riddle that no one knew anything about, and the churches least of all, it seemed to me. For ten years my concept of God was merely as the First Cause, and to find that God could be apprehended and understood was indeed a foretaste of heaven. Although I did not come to Christian Science for physical healing I immediately lost all desire for tobacco and I also laid up a box of heart tablets I had been in the habit of carrying for a number of years and have not used anything of the nature of medicine for any purpose since. I took no treatment for this ailment, in Science, except to read Science and Health, although I received valuable help from the kind friends whom I met in this new way. There have been many ills met in my family that under the old regime would have caused much care and anxiety, but under the healing influence of Truth they were healed almost instantly. So many beautiful things have come into my life through Christian Science that I am indeed grateful for having found this way. God bless the Leader of this great movement.
