Being reared by Christian parents, who taught me to...
Being reared by Christian parents, who taught me to love God and the Bible, from earliest childhood my desire was to be good and true. This led me to unite with an orthodox church, but although I lived up to its teachings to the best of my ability, I failed to be satisfied or happy. My first attendance at a Christian Science service convinced me that Christian Scientists had a spiritual understanding of God, man, and the universe which I had not; hence it claimed my attention and investigation. My interest increased as I read and studied the Bible and applied the teachings found in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and in consequence I was healed of hay fever, from which I had suffered for several years and which was gradually growing worse. It had seemingly attacked my lungs, and my despondency was increased by my physician telling me there had never been anything found in materia medica which would produce a cure; but through Christian Science I found our blessed Master's words verified. "The things which are impossible with men are possible with God."
This is only one of many blessings that I have received through Christian Science, for now "I know that my redeemer liveth," and that God forgives (destroys) all our iniquities and heals all our diseases. To all those who are bending beneath a crushing load of fear I would say, "Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace." God bless our dear Leader and all those who have helped me out of bondage into the truth which has made me free.—Mrs. Mary Haag Postell. N. C.
