A few years ago I had obtained employment on the Union Trust Co's building, which at the time was a mass of iron beams and girders, seventeen stories high. I was set at the hoisting of boards from the second to the thirteenth floor, work which was not in my line. While engaged in this manner the chain fell about five stories, and struck my head. I did not lose consciousness, but in falling declared the truth. A workman who saw this happen came to my side and made a brief examination. He declared me badly hurt and ordered some one to call an ambulance, to which I objected. Although the conditions seemed very alarming, I made my way to the office of a Christian Science practitioner and asked for help, which was given. In much less time than is used in telling this the flow of blood from my head had stopped, and though the service of a cab was offered, I walked unaided two squares to the car line, where I took passage home, about a mile away. In a week's time, thanks to Christian Science, I was again at work, all signs of the accident having disappeared.

For this, and for the overcoming of minor and greater ailments, in which Christian Science has been severely and thoroughly tested with results that have proved invaribly satisfactory, I am very thankful. I had suffered from eye trouble, for which I was treated by one of our best specialists, who stated at the time, "You will eventually go blind." After changing glasses six times, I was cured in Christian Science in one treatment. I was also healed of a severe bladder trouble, contracted during the court-house riots of 1884. I was treated by nine M. D.'s and told I would never be well and strong. This was cured by Christian Science in three and one half years. I had a serious affection of the left eyelid, but it was restored to a normal state in two weeks. For the spiritual uplifting and awakening gained by reading and applying to the problems of life the truth contained in that precious book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, together with her other writings, the writer owes his all. We never can begin to express in human language our gratitude to God for the message of Truth to this age, and there are no words that will express our thanks to our dear Leader, the Founder of Christian Science. To her, and to her illumined writings, which give to a beclouded world the spiritual interpretation of Scripture, is gratefully tendered my sincere appreciation, which I am daily striving to prove by my life.
