Six years ago, simply through the reading of the Christian Science text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, I was healed of rheumatic and chronic bowel trouble, besides poor eyesight. I had also suffered a great deal from female trouble, which seemed to puzzle the doctors; for with all the different remedies that were tried nothing seemed to alleviate it. During a period of ninetten years I was treated by six different doctors, and was always told that I would never be strong and must take the greatest care of myself. My eyes had troubled me a great deal while at school and after; I did without glasses as long as I possibly could, then had to go to a specialist, who fitted me with glasses and warned me never to use my eyes by artificial light.

After reading Science and Health for about a month I was surprised to find that I did not need my glasses and that my eyes were perfectly healed. In two months' time every one of the other physical ills had completely left me and I felt like one new-born. At that time I had never heard of any one being benefited simply by reading this book, so that I had not expected to be healed. I merely wanted to find out for myself what Christian Science is. When I compare those years of suffering, and the anxiety and expense that I then was to my family, with the past six years of perfect health that came to me through the study of our wonderful text-book, it is needless to say that words are inadequate to express my thankfulness.
