Truth's Coming

MERCY NUTTER DAVIS

Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

In Thy name! O Love transcendent,
Cometh one proclaiming good
As the Life of all—resplendent
Everywhere when understood.

In Thy name! O blessed coming!
Welcome Thou! With joy untold
We, Truth's message now discerning,
See its radiance unfold!

In Thy name! O Life eternal,
All-perfection, Love, and Truth;
Sacred three, whose light supernal
Blesses all with tender ruth.

In Thy name! Our symbol rises,
Fair its outlines, stately, grand!
Built of loving sacrifices
Offered by each willing hand.

In Thy name! Make wide the portal;
Those who love may enter in.
In Thy light, O Love immortal,
All are purified from sin.
