It is with a heart full of thankfulness that I give my testimony of the blessings received through Christian Science. When my baby boy was nearly a year old, he swallowed a wire nail one and three quarter inches long. The struggle at that time, together with our fear, seemed almost more than we could bear. Two doctors were called at once, who did all they could for him, but from that time until he was three years old he never was well. One thing followed another, and finally, after consulting five different doctors, they decided to hold a consultation. This they did, and said that his right lung had collapsed, and that perhaps an operation would help him. He had not walked in four months and had eaten scarcely anything. Nothing seemed to arouse him. As he was very weak, we did not want an operation, but the doctors said he could not possibly live over three days unless it was performed. Upon the suggestion of a friend we decided to try Christian Science, and a practitioner was sent for. Each day found the child brighter and the fits of coughing were farther apart. I purchased a copy of Science and Health and we became interested at once. At the end of eight months our boy was strong, well, and happy. He coughed somewhat, but it did not seem to inconvenience him. One morning after rising he coughed slightly and the blackened nail came up in his mouth, but no blood or mucus came with it. Since then he has never seen a sick moment and is as healthy as any boy four years old. Many other demonstrations have been made in our family, and not one drop of medicine has been used.
I am indeed thankful to God for the many blessings we have received, and I am most deeply grateful to Mrs. Eddy for her work of love.
Mrs. Eva B. Ransom, Pulaski, N. Y.
