I desire to testify to the benefits I have received during the last two and one half years through the study of Christian Science. For ten years or more I had suffered from indigestion and constipation, taking many kinds of medicine, and for several years had taken medicine every day, but without any permanent relief. My father, who was a doctor, could offer me no hope of real improvement unless it might be through taking more exercise, and I never succeeded in getting enough of that to do me any good. When I was induced to take up the study of Science and Health, I did so without any expectation that I would ever believe in it or experience any physical healing through it; nevertheless, within two weeks I was entirely relieved of the troubles mentioned, have been free from them ever since, and have not taken a drop of medicine in two and a half years.

When I had not been interested very long in Christian Science, I met with an experience which was very convincing to me of the healing power of Truth. I was moving a small iron safe on a hand-truck, when the truck slipped and struck my ankle. This was early in the afternoon, and while I remained at work my foot kept getting more and more lame, until by the time I left the office I could not put my heel on the ground in walking. After reaching my room I commenced to study the Lesson for the following Sunday, and when about half through had occasion to walk across the room. I then found that I could walk as usual without any inconvenience, and I had no further trouble with the injured foot. I had been troubled with chapped lips more than any one I have ever known. For years I could not smile, from early fall until late in the spring, without danger of cracking my lips so that they would bleed. I tried almost every known application, without any benefit beyond the time the remedy was in use. Since taking up the study of Christian Science I have used no material applications and the difficulty has been overcome to such an extent that I experience no further inconvenience.

It has been my privilege to interest some others in Christian Science and see them receive great benefits. I am also more than grateful for a greater desire to do right, and for kindlier feelings towards my fellow-men.
